Our goal is to begin construction on the Michigan Indoor Rowing Center in July 2008 and begin training in the tank in January 2009.
A unique and exciting feature of this project is that it brings together the University's Athletic and Recreational Sports Departments in a collaborative venture.
This timeline, and also the timeline for the rest of the facility -- the locker, meeting, and trophy rooms; coaches' offices; and erg spaces -- depends on YOU. |

"I would have loved to have had a facility like this one when I was rowing for Michigan. Having a central location on campus where the team can train together -- and also meet, study, and spend time together -- will be great for team unity as well as training and conditioning for the spring racing season."

"The erg is a rower's most valuable fitness tool, and a tank is the most valuable technical tool. A tank maximizes winter training and provides benefits unobtainable any other way."
-- Heather Mandoli '04, Current Member of the Canadian National Team
