Michigan Rowing is embarking on a bold $2 million initiative to develop a 9,000 square foot, on-campus facility dedicated solely to Michigan Rowing. The centerpiece of the Michigan Indoor Rowing Center - M.I.R.C. - will be a 16-seat state-of-the-art indoor rowing tank. This rowing tank will allow our coaching staff and rowers to train technically year round, enhancing their competitiveness and overall success as a top-flight rowing program.
The fundraising initiative begins today. If we meet our $2 million goal in the months ahead, construction will start in July 2008. Our target for rower occupancy is January 2009.
Your financial support is essential to making this facility a reality.

"I remember telling [Women's Head Coach] Mark [Rothstein] during my freshman year that if I could change anything about our program it would be to build a lake in the center of campus so everyone could see and learn about our incredible sport. This Indoor Rowing Center is about as close to that dream as it gets."
